Gifts

I don’t really know if I like Christmas. I like to be with my family and friends, but I don’t like that a pretty meeting became into a consumerism party.
I like to give presents to some people that it’s imporant for me. I  don’t like when I’m obliged to do it, for example when I must give a present to someone that I don’t trust. I  think that the present represents how  people see you, because it shows you the image that others has of you.
I like to receive presents. But not all of them. I really like when someone that I love gaves to me a special present, as a book of my preference, the disc of my favourite band or a simply letter. I like handmade presents, too.
I don’t spend a lot of money in Christmas gifts. I just choose a few presents for my nearest friends and my mom.  But when I could do it, I make some presents by my own, as decoupage decoration.
Normally, I bought the gift a lot of days before Christmas to avoid the crowd. But last year, I couldn’t do it because I didn’t have time (I was in classes). So, with some luck, I could buy my mother’s present. And the rest was little gifts to my friends.
When I know very well to someone, give it a gift is not a problem for me, because I know what things he or she likes, as music, films,  favourite teams, colors and other tiopics that ould help me to find the best present.  I like to give some letters to my friends when it’s him or her birthdays, as well as they gave me one too.
That’s all for today. Thank you!

Our world would say thanks to us

People is not always doing environmentally friendly practices. Some people learn this practices seeing documentaries, reading newspapers or reading news about that. But is not all the people who does it.
Sometimes I recycling some garbage. I mean, I try to use the paper by the both sides, I slice the water quickly when I brush my teeth… In the summer, when I go to the country with my family, we made a hole in the earth and we put the vegetal garbage there. It’s really nice.
I go to university on foot every day. Although I don’t have a bike, sometimes I’d like to have one for do it.
I don’t have joined any eco-organisations because I have to admit that I’m a little bit lazy. I think I can help to environment by my own.
I would like to plant a tree some day. Some people say that if you want to be a great person, you must to have a child, write a book and plant a tree. Hahaha. Well, I think I can start by the last one. I would like to do it in my ground, next to me.
To reduce my carbon footprint, I worry about my electric machines. I mean, I unplug the electric devices when I’m not using them. Or I turn off the light when I don’t need it. I think that we can do a lot for our environment with simply things.
I think that our society don’t knows that they can help with little practices. But I believe if everybody puts a little grain of sand, world would say thanks to us.

Let's fly, let's fly

I like travelling a lot. Since I was a little child. I remember my first trip . I went with my family to Pelluhue, a beach near of Linares, the city that I lived still last year. I went with my grandmother, cousins, uncles and aunts. I built my first sand castle there (:
I really don’t know what kind of trip I prefer,- I just know that I enjoy travelling. If I could go to Antartic, I would go. As same as if I have the possibility to go to Caribe. Travelling is something universal for me. Although I like to know about new cultures and different ways of lives, I enjoy to be lying down on the sand of the beach.
I would like to go to so many places… For example, Colombia to drink some coffee, France to enjoy the landscape, England to go to Big Ben, Japan to visit Tokyo Tower… I could continue all the day!
I remember my greatest trip. It happened when I was thirteen years old. I went with my godmother to Salvador de Bahia, Brazil. I enjoyed a lot this trip because I’ve been always interested on Brazilian culture, so I learnt a lot about that, like their traditions and culture. I saw the carnival in front of my eyes! It was very exciting.
My holidays are going to be short this year, so I think I’m not going to have a big trip this year, but there will be time to have betters!

Greetings!

Urban population boom threatens Lake Titicaca

Titicaca Lake, the South American most famous lake, ubicated on the border of Bolivia and Peru, is being polluted by increasing leves of waste from fast-growning cities.
This area has sustained agricultural societies on the dry, high-altitude Andean plains for thousands of years, but is now threatened by a population boom from nearby cities and towns.
If migration sometimes is a positive phenomenon, today isn’t, because this migratiom has had dangerous effects on the rivers of El Alto, place that there are communities.
There`s a lot of pollution like Raw sewage, garbage and industrial waste, that are all dumped into the Seco River, which flows through the heart of El Alto.
El Alto is a political powerhouse, althoguh the big poverty and limited access to services. So the population always had problems to have a better life style. In addition to it, El Alto's budget depends on Bolivia's central government, and collects little from local taxes. A constantly expanding network brings drinking water to about 80% of the city's homes. But the construction of a new plant to treat more wastewater is, at best, years away.
El Alto’s mayor, Edgar Ticona, is trying to do that some people respect the environmental laws, but he said that it’s a difficult work.
So, we can see that Bolivia, and specially Titicaca Lake is an a huge problem. The most dangerous is to think this difficult can affect people's live and health, without mention about the ambiental damage.

Music is an art

Music means a lot to me. Although I’m not a musician, I like to listen music and singers. I think that music express a lot of feelings that humans haves in their own, and I think that is important express what do you feel about something.
I started to listen the music I like when I was seven years. I was just a little child, but I still like that music. It wasn’t Chachureos or something. It was a group called Queen. I remember I was seeing a movie, when suddenly, I listened by first time “Bohemian Raphsody” in a scene. And then, my life changed.
It’s my favoruite group. They are a multidisciplinary band, because they’re calificated as a band of hard rock, glam rock, heavy metal, progressive rock, art rock, pop rock, dance rock, rock symphonic, and funk rock. They insipred a lot of future bands, as Oasis.

I like this band mainly because I like the vocalist’s voice.  His name was Freddie Mercury. He died around 20 years ago. But, for me, he’s alive. I like a lot the lyrics of the songs. They talk about friendship, pain, injustice, love, problems, and other topics.
See you!
